Privacy Policy

StokData is a product of Fair Supports Pty Ltd (ABN 85 677 767 761), an Australian company ("Fair Supports", "we", "us", "our"), trading as StokData / StokData Africa. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose personal information through the StokData website (stokdata.africa) and app.
Because StokData is marketed to and used by farmers and farm workers in South Africa and other African countries, this policy is written to meet the requirements of South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), in addition to our obligations as an Australian company. Where you are located in another country with its own data protection law, that law may give you additional rights, and we will honour them on request.
1. Information Officer

2. What we collect
At signup:
- Farm/business name, owner name, phone number, country, headcount, and farm type
- Account email and password
- Payment details, processed by our payment provider, Stripe (we do not store full card numbers)
Through ongoing use of the app:
- Livestock, poultry, inventory, sales, task, and payroll records you enter
- Worker information you add to manage your farm's staff
- Photos you choose to upload (for example, photo records or your farm logo). These are stored securely and are not analysed by AI. StokData does not capture or process voice or audio.
Coming soon: we're developing an AI-assisted disease-detection feature (using photos, descriptions, or voice audio you'd submit about an animal's condition) that is not yet available. Before this feature launches, we'll update this policy to describe exactly what it collects and how it's used, and we'll show a dedicated consent screen the first time you use it.
Automatically, through the website:
- We use Google Analytics (measurement ID G-46CX6NEREZ) to understand site traffic and usage.
- We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel (ID 1537893884505600), including Meta's Advanced Matching feature, which may hash and share an email address or phone number you enter on our site with Meta to measure advertising performance.
These tools only run after you consent via the cookie banner described in section 4. Before you consent, only strictly necessary cookies are set.
3. Why we collect it
We use personal information to:
- Provide the farm/livestock management features you sign up for
- Process your subscription payment and manage billing
- Understand how visitors use our website and measure the effectiveness of our marketing (only where you've consented to analytics/marketing cookies)
- Send you product updates or farming tips, where you've opted in
- Comply with our legal obligations
4. Cookies and tracking — your choices
We only load non-essential trackers (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel) after you give consent through the cookie banner on our site. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer. Declining analytics/marketing cookies does not affect your ability to use StokData.
5. Who we share it with
We disclose personal information only to:
- Stripe, to process subscription payments
- Supabase, which hosts our database and application infrastructure
- Google (Analytics) and Meta (Pixel/Advanced Matching), only where you've consented to analytics/marketing cookies
- Regulators or authorities where required by law
- A prospective buyer or successor entity in the event of a business sale, merger, or restructure, subject to confidentiality obligations
We do not sell personal information.
6. Cross-border data transfers
Fair Supports Pty Ltd is based in Australia. Some of the vendors listed above (including Supabase, Google, and Meta) may store or process data outside South Africa, including in the United States or other countries. Where we transfer personal information outside South Africa, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient is subject to a law, binding agreement, or other arrangement that provides an adequate level of protection substantially similar to POPIA's conditions for lawful processing, as required by POPIA section 72.
7. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections and access controls on our hosting and payment infrastructure. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Data retention
We retain farm, livestock, and account data for as long as your subscription is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to support billing history and legal requirements.
9. Your rights
Under POPIA, you have the right to:
- Be notified that we are collecting your personal information
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of personal information that is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out of date, or unlawfully obtained
- Object to processing of your personal information, including for direct marketing
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa), inforegulator.org.za, if you believe we haven't met our obligations
If you are located outside South Africa, you may have equivalent rights under your own country's law, and we will apply the same process to your request.

10. Marketing communications
We will only send you farming tips or product update emails if you actively opt in — this is not a default/pre-selected setting. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any marketing email or by contacting us.
11. Children's information
StokData is intended for business/farm use by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "last updated" date, and notify active subscribers of material changes.
